The Liquid Facelift
In the past, surgeons have solved the ongoing problem of sagging skin and wrinkles with traditional facelifts that are very invasive and often result in a pulled look. Today we have learned that a common cause for sagging skin, wrinkles, and folds is loss of collagen and elastin in the skin. This causes an overall loss of volume in the face.
For over a decade, Dr. Eviatar has been treating this condition with advanced facial fillers and neuromodulators such as BOTOX, Dysport, and Xeomin. As a physician trainer for the manufacturers of these products, Dr. Eviatar has been recognized multiple times in the press for his expertise in refined injection techniques that lift and countour the aging face. With his extensive experience in all these injectable products, he customizes his approach to each patient in order to restore balance, volume, and an overall youthful and more natural result.
The Liquid Eyelift
The liquid eyelift can be an alternative to blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) for many patients. Dr. Eviatar uses a combination of facial fillers (Radiesse and Restylane) in the eye area in what he calls a “sandwich” technique. He injects Radiesse deep around the orbital bone to lift the tissue, while Restylane is then injected under the fine lines of the lid to strengthen the skin and give it more structure that lifts. The result is an upper lid that is lifted, a brow with a softer contour and a more open look to the eye.
Dr. Eviatar is an oculofacial plastic surgeon as well as an injection expert. Liquid eyelifts should not be administered by any other type of physician as they are the most qualified to understand the delicate structures surrounding the eyes.
These procedures are not painful. A topical anesthetic is applied to the area to be injected, and the material is mixed with anesthetic solution. All injectables are administered with a very fine needle.
The most common side effects include mild bruising and swelling at the injection site. On a rare occasion, lumps can form in the treated area and be corrected with massage or further injections. There is no downtime and mild bruising and swelling can usually be concealed with makeup. Many patients return to work right after treatment.
The procedures can last up to 3 years, depending on how the body absorbs the filler material. Commonly a skincare regimen is also recommended to help maintain youthful looking skin both in the eye area and face in order to optimize the results.
